Parish Information

Masses and Services:

Weekend Masses: Saturday 6.00 p.m., Sunday 8.00 a.m., 9.30 a.m., 11.00 a.m., Weekdays: Monday - Saturday 10.00 a.m.

Children's Mass/Family Mass: Last Sunday of each month September - June at 11.00 a.m.

Children's Liturgy: Children from third, fourth, and fifth classes have their own Liturgy of the Word at the 11.00 a.m. mass each Sunday in the parish centre adjacent to the church. This is led by the Children's Liturgy Team.

Weekly Confessions: Saturdays: 12.00 p.m. - 1.00 p.m. and after evening Mass, First Thursdays: 7.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Confirmation 2013: The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred on the sixth class children from Dooish N.S. and St Mary's N.S. on Saturday 4th May 2013 at 11.00 a.m.

First Holy Communion 2013: The children from St. Mary's National School will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday 11th May at 11.00 am and the children of Dooish National School on Saturday 18th May at 11.00 am.

Novena of the Faithful Departed: This takes place in November and concludes with a special mass of remembrance for all who have died in our parish throughout that year.

Advent: Each Sunday evening during Advent we have a service in preparation for Christmas concluding with a penitential service on the last Sunday evening before Christmas.

Interdenominational Carol Service: This takes place each year during Advent and rotates between the churches. This year it will be held in the Church of Mary Immaculate Stranorlar on Sunday 18th December at 7.00pm

Philippino Community Celebration: On the 8th of December each year the Philippino community from far and near come together to celebrate the Eucharist together. This is followed by refreshments and entertainment for all in the parish centre.

New Years Eve: A service of thanksgiving for the year that has been and prayers of hope for the year ahead, takes place on New Year’s Eve each year.

Service for Babies Baptised During the Year: On the feast of the Baptism of the Lord (the second Sunday of the New Year) we have a special service for families who had a child baptised during the year.

Some of the other services that take place during the year include

  • A service for carers, the sick and the elderly
  • Harvest Thanksgiving
  • Celebration for all in ministry in the parish
  • Service for families who lost babies before or at the time of birth. (The parish maintains a Book of Remembrance for these babies. Details available from any of the priests.)
